FAQ

Introduction

Who is Jianjie & what does Jianjie do?

Jianjie is a company that integrates production, research and development, and sales for metallurgical waste and mineral binders. We specialize in providing a variety of solutions for plants to manage solid waste, such as dust, fly ash, bottom ash, scrap iron, steel slag, leftover material, furnace charge, and sintered return ore. Our solutions are designed to reduce production costs, increase profits, and improve the utilization rate of resources.

What is your production capacity ?

Our capacity is approximately 300,000 ton per year.

What is agglomeration?

Agglomeration is a process in which fine particles of raw materials—such as iron ore fines, coal dust, or steel slag—are gathered and bonded together into larger, more uniform aggregates. This improves material handling, reduces dust, and enhances the efficiency of downstream processes such as smelting or combustion. Agglomeration techniques include briquetting, pelletization, and sintering. It is commonly used in industries like steel production, mining, metallurgy, and cement.

What is pelletization?

Pelletization is a type of agglomeration that involves converting fine powders or dust into small, round pellets using moisture and a binder. The process typically requires a pelletizer or disc granulator, followed by indurating and drying steps. The finished products are called pellets, which attain specific physical and chemical properties. Products that have not been hardened and dried are referred to as green pellets. Pelletization is widely used in iron ore processing, fertilizer production, and waste recycling, where consistent pellet size and mechanical strength are critical.

What is briquetting?

Briquetting is the process of compressing fine materials into solid briquettes using a briquette press machine. This compaction method reduces waste volume, improves material handling, and enhances reusability or combustion value. Cold briquetting with a binder is especially useful in recycling steel waste and non-ferrous dust in an energy-efficient and eco-friendly way.

What is binder?

A binder is a material added during the agglomeration process to help fine particles adhere together and form a solid shape, such as a briquette or pellet. Binders can be organic or inorganic and play a key role in determining the strength, durability, and water resistance of the final product.

Jianjie offers advanced industrial binder solutions that are tailored to steel waste recycling, coal briquetting, and other reuse applications such as mineral powder.

What are the types of binder in the market?

Binders are generally classified into 3types: organic binders, inorganic binders, and composite binders.
Organic binders: Examples include starch, molasses, or cellulose. These are biodegradable but may lack high-temperature resistance.
Inorganic binders: Such as lime, cement, or bentonite clay, known for their thermal stability but often increase ash content.
Composite binders: Engineered formulations that combine the advantages of both types. Jianjie’s proprietary binders are pollution-free, cost-effective, and specifically designed for cold briquetting of steel waste, coal fines, mineral powders, as well as for pelletizing of iron ore.

4. Environmentally friendly, supporting sustainable and clean production

Can Jianjie binder be used in a high-temperature briquetting process?

Yes, Jianjie binder can be used in high-temperature briquetting processes, depending on the specific product formulation. Jianjie offers a range of binder solutions tailored to various conditions. For high-temperature applications—such as those involving hot briquetting or materials that undergo subsequent thermal treatment—special formulations are available that provide excellent thermal stability and binding strength. We recommend consulting with our technical team to select the most suitable binder type for your specific process requirements.

Can Jianjie binder improve the strength and durability of my briquettes?

Yes, Jianjie binder can improve the strength and durability of your briquettes. Our binders are specially formulated to enhance mechanical strength, drop resistance, and abrasion resistance of briquettes—whether you're working with metal dust, ore fines, coal, or other materials.
If you're experiencing low strength, the issue may be due to:
1. Incompatible binder formulation
2. Improper binder-to-material ratio
3. Poor mixing or pressing conditions
4. High moisture content or drying issues and more
We offer customized binder solutions based on the physical and chemical characteristics of your raw materials, and we provide technical support throughout the briquetting and pelletizing process to ensure optimal performance. With the right binder and process control, we can significantly improve your product's strength, stability, and usability.
Feel free to contact our technical team for testing, formulation advice, or on-site guidance.
